DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY??

Dental radiography is the art and science of making shadow pictures of teeth and surrounding structures. It uses good practices of both radiation safety and infection control, produce high quality dental radiograph for diagnosis.

In short, they provide a complete view of what’s happening in your mouthA dental radiograph gives a picture of your hard tissues (teeth and bones) and the soft tissues that surround your teeth and jawbones. For example, caries between the teeth periodontal (gum) diseaseinfections that develop under your gums etc

          Dental radiograph can be either intraoral view or extraoral view. For intraoral radiographic view, it is carried out by placing the radiographic film or sensor inside the mouth. It can be periapical view,bitewing view, occlusal view or full mouth series. While for the extraoral radiographic  view, it is carried out by placing the radiographic film or sensor outside the mouth, on the opposite side of the head from the X-ray source. Panoramic films are used for extraoral radiographic view.
